LEARN TO SKATE/PLAY HOCKEY

Program for Boys & Girls

For ages 4-11 from Medford and Surrounding Communities.

Our In-House Hockey Program offers children the opportunity to learn to ice skate then transition to learning the skills of playing the sport of youth hockey.

Back in 1975, all (3) of Medford Youth Hockey programs (Medford Youth Hockey, West Medford Hillside Youth Hockey and North Medford Youth Hockey) combined to become Medford Recreational Hockey Association.

This season will mark the 49th season of the Medford Recreational Hockey Association!

• 20-week Program
• Tuition is $300
• Evaluations are Thursday 10/10 at 6PM and Saturday 10/12 at NOON
• LTS and Developmental players have practice Thursday evenings at 6PM and Saturdays at NOON
• In-House team players will practice on Fridays at 6PM, Saturdays at 1PM and play their games on Sundays

Our program is broken down into 3 ON ICE Groups:

(Evaluations will be held in order to ensure proper placement)

1. LEARN TO SKATE/PLAY HOCKEY PROGRAM: FOR BEGINNERS, LEARNING TO SKATE

All players are taught ice skating by our team of instructors within several ability groups. As players skating improves, our instructors will advance these players to higher groups

2.DEVELOPMENT CLINIC PROGRAM: MUST BE ABLE TO SKATE

Players are evaluated at Development Clinic. Players who can ice skate BUT need to improve their skating, turning and stopping skills. In addition, these players skate with hockey a stick and learn basic hockey and puck drills.

3. LEARN TO PLAY IN-HOUSE TEAM PROGRAM – EXPERIENCED SKATERS

Experienced new and returning Players who can ice skate, turn and stop on skates will be placed on teams with equal ability, practice as teams and play half ice mini games once a week. (Tuition is $500)

(Players evaluated and placed into the Learn to Play IN-HOUSE Teams Program will be required to pay an addition $200 tuition to cover the additional 3rd skills ice session bringing their tuition to $500 per player)

The player will receive a registration number, which is needed to register with Medford Recreational Hockey

STEP #2: Go to: www.medfordrechockey.com, create an account and register your player

All player tuitions are to be paid at time of registration, by credit card or ACH payment.
