LEARN TO SKATE/ HOCKEY PROGRAM

Hockey Program for Boys & Girls


On Ice evaluations are Thu. Oct. 8 at 6:PM and Sat. Oct. 10 at 12:PM at LoConte.

For ages 4-9 from Medford and Surrounding Communities.

Our In-House Hockey Program offers children the opportunity to learn to ice skate then transition to learning the skills of playing the sport of youth hockey.

PROGRAM DETAILS:

  • 20-week Program
  • Tuition is $300
  • Skaters will be evaluated at first lesson to ensure proper placement. Please make every effort to be at the first lesson 10/10/26 (just let an instructor know if your player is new)
  • LTS and Developmental (Beginner) players have practice Thursday evenings at 6PM and Saturdays at NOON (you can find the schedule below)
  • In-House team players (Experienced) will practice on Fridays at 6PM, Saturdays at 1PM and play their games on Sundays
  • Takes place at LoConte Rink


Our program is broken down into 3 ON ICE Groups:


1. LEARN TO SKATE/PLAY HOCKEY PROGRAM: FOR BEGINNERS, LEARNING TO SKATE

All players are taught ice skating by our team of instructors within several ability groups. As players skating improves, our instructors will advance these players to higher groups

2.DEVELOPMENT CLINIC PROGRAM: MUST BE ABLE TO SKATE

Players are evaluated at Development Clinic. Players who can ice skate BUT need to improve their skating, turning and stopping skills. In addition, these players skate with hockey a stick and learn basic hockey and puck drills.

3. LEARN TO PLAY IN-HOUSE TEAM PROGRAM – EXPERIENCED SKATERS

Experienced new and returning Players who can ice skate, turn and stop on skates will be placed on teams with equal ability, practice as teams and play half ice mini games once a week. (Tuition is $500)

(Players evaluated and placed into the Learn to Play IN-HOUSE Teams Program will be charged an additional $200 tuition to cover the additional 3rd skills ice session bringing their tuition to $500 per player)

4. Required Equipment For All (3) In-House Programs: The Required equipment for all (3) In-House Hockey Programs is a hockey style helmet with full face mask (cage), hockey skates, lightweight elbow, knee and shoulder pads, hockey style or winter gloves and warm clothing.

All players will receive a Medford YH team hockey jersey and (1) pair of hockey socks covered within the players tuitions.



TO REGISTER for our LEARN TO SKATE/PLAY HOCKEY PROGRAM:

STEP #1: Go to: www.usahockey.com and register your player.

The player will receive a registration number, which is needed to register with Medford Recreational Hockey

STEP #2: Go to: www.medfordrechockey.com, create an account and register your player

All player tuitions are to be paid at time of registration, by credit card or ACH payment.




26/27 LTS/PLAY HOCKEY

 Learn to Skate/In-House On-Ice evaluations are (2) Days, Thu. Oct. 8 at 6:PM and Sat. Oct. 10 at 12:PM at LoConte. PLEASE ATTEND EVALUATIONS.

You will need a USA Hockey # in order to register for this program.

*Beginners and Developmental players have practice Thursday evenings at 6PM and Saturdays at NOON 

COST: $300

*In-House team players will practice on Fridays at 6PM, Saturdays at 1PM and play their games on Sundays at 4pm

ADDITIONAL COST: $200 will be added to your tuition once your skater has been placed on an inhouse team
