MEDFORD, MA - Welcome to Medford Youth Hockey & Girl's Hockey in Medford, Massachusetts. Located just 5-miles north of historic Boston, Medford is a college community and home to Tufts University, Medford High School and Medford Youth Hockey, Medford Girl's Hockey and Medford Figure Skating. Ice skating has been recognized throughout the United States as one of the best youth physical fitness activities for young kids. Youth Hockey has been acclaimed as one of the best youth sports for kids because it teaches teamwork, sportsmanship, dedication and community pride.
Medford Youth Hockey and Medford Girl's Hockey provide two (2) hockey programs. With our home rink the City of Medford managed LoConte Rink off Route #16 and within the Hormel Stadium Complex, Medford Youth Hockey and Girl's Hockey Fall~Winter Programs for boys and girls ages 4-18 provide a competitive Travel Team Youth Program, a competitive Travel Team Girl's Program and a widely popular and successful In-House (Intramural) Program that features Learn to Skate, Instructional Clinic and In-House (Learn to Play) Team Hockey.
Medford Figure Skating provides a US Figure Skating "Badge Achievement Program" on Saturday mornings at the LoConte Rink that has been recognized as one of the best city-town figure skating programs in Greater Boston for girl's and boys ages 4-15. Each season, the Medford Figure Skating Program ends their season with all of their skaters participating in their own Ice Show~Recital held at LoConte Rink, Medford.

Travel Team Program: The Medford Youth Hockey & Girl's Hockey 2013-14 Travel Teams will be selected from the March Travel Team Tryout results. All players will be notified by mail which team they have been assigned. The Valley Youth Hockey League and the Middlesex Yankee Girl's Hockey League have been selected as the leagues our Medford Travel Teams will participate in for the upcoming 2013-14 season.
Although we had a great spring travel team tryout and most of our teams have atleast 14-players, we still have teams with roster openings and teams needing a head coach. If your player is interested in playing on a team with roster openings ar if you are interesed in being a head coach for a team needing a coach, please contact League President Patrick McCabe at 617-640-0643.

HEADLINES  | | | 2013-14 BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTED by Medford Hockey Information posted 06/08/2013 Medford Youth Hockey, Medford Girl's Hockey and Medford Figure Skating elected their 2013-14 (13) member Board of Directors at the April 25th Annual Meeting.
MEDFORD, MA - - The active membership of the Medford Youth Hockey, Medford Girl's Hockey and Medford Figure Skating programs elected the program's 39th Board of Directors at the April 25th Annual Meeting held at the LoConte Rink, Medford.
Once elected, the new Board of Directors will meet weekly to interview and select the 2013-14 Travel Team Coaches. Once the coaches are selected, the coaches will select their teams from the March 2013-14 Travel Team Tryout Grading Results. Players will be notified by mail the teams they have been selected to.
In addition to selecting coaches and selecting travel teams, the Board of Directors will meet to form the various committees, select skills programs and set player bills for the 2013-14 season.

The Board of Directors are interviewing and selecting the 2013-14 Travel Team Coaches. Our congratulations and best wishes to the coaches recently selected. More coaches are needed to fill all coaching positions. The Board of Directors will continue to search, interview and select travel team coaches for the teams without a selected coach.
Due to a great turnout at our 2013-14 Travel Team Tryout, Medford Youth Hockey is planning to skate 1-Mite, 3-Squirt, 3-PeeWee, 2-Bantam and 1-Midget travel teams. Medfoird Girl's Hockey is planning to skate 1-Girl's U10, 1-Girl's U12, 1-Girl's U14 and 1-Girl's U18 travel teams.
In addition, although the youth teams have a minimum 14-players per team, we have roster openings on all Girl's teams. Medford Girl's Hockey will continue to accept interested players throughout the summer. If your player missed tryouts or if you are interested in returning to Medford to play youth hockey or girl's hockey, please contact League President Patrick McCabe at 617-640-0643.

BOSTON, MA - Medford Youth Hockey and Medford Girl's Hockey have been awarded the 2013-14 Mike Cheever Grow Hockey Development Award. Several programs across Massachusetts are selected each season for their efforts in providing programs within their own program to help grow and retain hockey players.
Medford Youth Hockey and Medford Girl's Hockey "In-House Youth Referee Program" has been recognized by the Mike Cheever Grow Hockey Development Program and we will receive $1000 to purchase new referee jerseys, new referee helmets and referee whistles for the upcoming 2013-14 season.
Our Medford Youth Hockey In-House Program Youth Referee Program membership each season are Medford Travel Team Players (Squirts, PeeWees, Bantams, Girl's U10's, Girl's U12's and Girl's U14's) This past season, nearly 30-players signed up to referee and timekeep the Sunday afternoon In-House Program all season.
Medford Hockey's In-House Director Tony Bova and Past President Kelly Allen attended the Awards Ceremony at the TD Garden prior to a Boston Bruins game. Medford Youth Hockey and Medford Girl's Hockey were also recognized by the Boston Bruins who help fund the Cheever Award Program from the sales of the Boston Bruins License Plates.
It's a great time to be be playing Medford Youth Hockey and Medford Girl's Hockey. Signups for the 2013-14 Medford Youth Referee Program will begin when the LoConte Rink opens and prior to the start of the In-House Program. MEDFORD MITE-B's ARE VALLEY LEAGUE MITE EAST DIVISION PLAYOFF CHAMPS !
Our Medford Youth Hockey Mite-B's defeated Billerica 3-0 on Sunday April 7th to win the Valley League Mite East American Division 2012-13 Playoff Championship. The Mite-B's finished with a 3-0 record in the playoffs. Congratulations to all of the players, coaches and parents.
MEDFORD GIRL'S U10A's ARE MIDDLESEX YANKEE GIRL'S LEAGUE MID-SOUTH DIVISION PLAYOFF CHAMPS !
Our Medford Girl's Hockey U10A's defeated Lexington-Bedford 2-1 on Saturday April 6th to win the Middlesex Yankee Girl's League Mid-South Division 2012-13 Playoff Championship. The Girl's U10A's finished with a 3-0 record in the playoffs. Congratulations to all of the players, coaches and parents.
MEDFORD WINTER BANTAMS ARE VALLEY LEAGUE BANTAM SOUTH DIVISION PLAYOFF CHAMPS !
Our Medford Winter Bantams defeated Wakefield 6-2 on Sunday April 7th to win the Valley League Bantam South American Division 2012-13 Playoff Championship. The Winter Bantams finished with a 3-0 record in the playoffs. Congratulations to all of the players, coaches and parents.
Overall our Medford Travel Teams finished the season with an 11-7-0 record during the Valley League and Middlesex Yankee Girl's League season ending 2012-13 playoffs. Our Medford Mite-A's and Medford Squirt-A's advanced to their respective division playoff Semi-Finals before being eliminated.
