Valley League - LoConte Rink 2020-21 Covid-19 Guidelines

VALLEY HOCKEY LEAGUE 2020-21 COVID-19 GUIDELINES GAME RULES:
LoCONTE RINK, MEDFORD                                                              UPDATED 11/6/20 

The City of Medford Board of Health approved LoConte Rink entrance, portable rink area bench areas, flow patterns and exits are posted throughout the rink. Once dressed, all players, player bags and spectators must enter and stay in the rink area designated areas before exiting through the rink area side doors. Lobby bathrooms will be open at all times. Locker rooms, concession and skate shop are closed. 

1. Modified Game Rules:            Go to the Massachusetts Hockey website for a complete list of updated guidelines !
     A. (11/6/20) Body checking is allowed at the appropriate USA Hockey levels.
     B. (11/6/20) Facial masks MUST be worn at all times by players, coaches, officials, instructors, parent spectators while at and in the ice rink.
     C. (11/6/20) Two (2) parent spectators will be allowed to accompany their player/skating within the ice rink.
2. Contact Tracing - All rental groups are required to provide an accurate roster with contact information of all participants. The Valley Hockey League will utilize our online rostering system to fulfill this requirement.
3. Players walk into the facility dressed and show up to the rink no more than 15-minutes prior to their ice time. We will provide adequate space for skaters to put their skates on, but we recommend bringing walkable skate guards as well.
4. Players MUST leave within 15-minutes of the end of their ice time.
5. For the safety of all customers, participants and employees, we strongly recommend drop off of only players. If that is no an option, (2) spectators per skater is allowed inside the facility. Spectators will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
6. Protective masks are required at all times in the building.
7. Players are required to use their own water bottles and fill them at home.
8. If a player or coach has any sort of illness, coughing, or sneezing, please stay home.
9. No contact or battle drills are allowed.
10. Groups must be broken up into groups of 25 or less. Multiple groups are allowed on the ice. Ice can be split into different area with groups of 25 if they are separated by 14 ft.
11. Coaches must be responsible for social distancing among players and coaching staffs.
12. Players and coaches must achieve proper hygiene at beginning and end of all activities thru hand washing and sanitizing.
13. Please make sure to cover your mouth and/or nose when sneezing or coughing.
14. NO SPITTING inside the facility.
15. Valley Rinks will provide hand sanitizing stations throughout the their owned facility.
16. Shower areas will be closed until further notice.

NOTES:
1. We expect the City of Medford to follow similar guidelines with regards to the LoConte Rink, Medford.
2. The Valley Hockey League will be playing 5-games weekly at the LoConte Rink on Sundays mornings from 7:00 AM to 12:50 PM beginning Sunday Sept. 14th.
