10 Reasons to Join Medford Youth Hockey

1.   More Practices at Convenient Times !

Medford Youth Hockey Travel Teams have two (2) practices every week and one separate hour for their group/team skills all at convenient hours at the City of Medford managed LoConte Rink off Route #16 within the Hormel Stadium Complex in Medford.

2.   Weekly Travel Team Skills and Goalie Skills Sessions !

Medford Youth Hockey Travel Teams have a group/team skills session every week. Former NHL player and Medford High star Shawn Bates (Shawn Bates Skills) and his team of instructors currently provide our travel team players with the best player skills and goalie skills in the sport.

3.   Access to Additional Resources (Dryland Training & Goalie Training)

Medford Youth Hockey provides information to it's players for additional resources. Dryland training teaches players drills that will increase foot speed and agility. Goalie training teaches goalie drills that can increase their abilities.

4.   Travel Team Keeper Jerseys for All Players

All Medford Youth Hockey Travel Team players will get to keep their game jerseys and select their very own jersey number that will be theirs for as long as they play Medford Hockey. Best of all, jerseys will be sized and all players will get a shirt that fits.

5.   Affordable Travel Team Player Fees With 7-Monthly Payments

With every Medford Youth Hockey Travel Team player receiving weekly skills, new travel team jerseys to keep, additional practices now that the LoConte Rink opens in September and competitive games in the Valley Hockey League, Travel Team prices have increased slightly each year. In comparison with neighboring communities, the Medford Board of Directors work hard to maintain affordable player tuitions and within a 7-monthly payment plan.

6.   Wi-Fi  at the LoConte Rink

We even have something for the kids that don’t play hockey. The City of Medford managed LoConte Rink, Medford offers WiFi at the LoConte Rink. There is wireless internet at the rink for parents and siblings with iPads or laptops.

7.   Coaching Development Program

We have volunteer coaches that are generous with their time and we are going to invest in them. There will be monthly coaches’ meetings, on ice sessions, and guest speakers to ensure that all of our coaches are getting the support they need.

8.   Financial Transparency - Financials Available for Parents to See

Our finances will be available at all "Open Meetings" or by emailing your request to the Board of Directors at [email protected] Anyone can see the books at anytime.

9.   New Website, Facebook, and Twitter

Pay your bills online and see your balance at any time. Get email or text reminders of games, practices, and rink closings. Use Facebook to start discussions about what the best camps are or get people’s opinions on the best new stick to buy. Twitter too!

 10.   Suggestions Welcomed

All of these changes started with our parents and coaches. Keep the good ideas coming.  Email your suggestions to [email protected] and share them with board members, or better yet, bring them forward at an open meeting.
